Omanbapa Auto & PVOC Ltd Advances Ghana’s Pre-Shipment Inspection Programme for Imported Used Vehicles
Omanbapa Auto & PVOC Ltd has made significant progress toward the implementation of a national Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) programme for imported used vehicles in Ghana following advanced stakeholder engagements with key government institutions.
The company has led high-level discussions with the Office of the President, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the Ghana Standards Authority aimed at strengthening vehicle import compliance, quality assurance, safety standards, and regulatory oversight within Ghana’s automotive sector.
As part of the ongoing collaboration, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been officially signed between the Ghana Standards Authority and Omanbapa Auto & PVOC Ltd, paving the way for the formal execution of a Service Agreement for the nationwide rollout of the programme.
The proposed Pre-Shipment Inspection initiative is expected to enhance the quality and safety of imported used vehicles entering the Ghanaian market by ensuring compliance with established technical and environmental standards before shipment into the country.

Upon full implementation and certification, Omanbapa Auto & PVOC Ltd is expected to become the first Pan-African company to attain ISO certification as a Pre-Verification of Conformity (PVOC) service provider, positioning Ghana as a leader in African automotive inspection and standards compliance services.
The development further reflects Omanbapa’s commitment to supporting industrial transformation, regulatory excellence, and internationally recognized quality assurance systems across Africa.
