Omanbapa Ghana Facilitates Strategic Defence Technology Engagement Between Ghana and China’s CETC

Omanbapa Ghana Ltd has successfully facilitated strategic high-level engagements between China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC) and the Government of Ghana as part of efforts to strengthen international cooperation in advanced defence and security technologies.

The engagements brought together CETC representatives and the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, during official high-level meetings held in Singapore in August 2025 and later in China in October 2025.

Both engagements received official approval and diplomatic support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ghana, underscoring the strategic importance of the discussions and Ghana’s commitment to advancing international partnerships in technology, defence, and national security infrastructure.

The meetings focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in critical defence and security sectors, with discussions covering advanced technologies and long-term collaboration opportunities aimed at enhancing Ghana’s national security capabilities and technological modernization agenda.

Following the engagements, CETC has initiated its strategic entry into Ghana with collaboration interests in several key areas, including:

• Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) systems
• Anti-UAV and counter-drone technologies
• Command and Control Systems
• Cybersecurity technologies
• Defence communications systems
• National electronic warfare systems
•  

The partnership discussions are expected to support Ghana’s broader security modernization objectives while creating opportunities for technology transfer, technical training, institutional collaboration, and long-term infrastructure development.

Omanbapa Ghana Ltd reaffirmed its role as a strategic facilitator of international partnerships that drive national development, innovation, security enhancement, and foreign direct investment into Ghana.

The engagements further position Ghana as an emerging destination for advanced defence and technology collaborations within Africa.
