Omanbapa Group Facilitates Strategic Defence Cooperation Talks Between Ghana and Malaysia

The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts to position Ghana as a future hub for defence vehicle assembly and manufacturing in West Africa.

Omanbapa Ghana Ltd has successfully facilitated a high-level strategic engagement aimed at strengthening defence industry cooperation between the Government of Ghana and Malaysian defence vehicle manufacturer Cendana Auto SDN BHD.

The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts to position Ghana as a future hub for defence vehicle assembly and manufacturing in West Africa.

Cendana Auto SDN BHD, an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specializing in defence vehicles, is exploring partnership opportunities with the Government of Ghana through the Defence Industries Holding Company (DIHOC) to establish a defence vehicle assembly and manufacturing facility in Ghana.

As part of the visit, Omanbapa Ghana Ltd coordinated and facilitated a series of high-level stakeholder meetings involving key government and defence institutions, including the Office of the Vice President, the Ministry of Defence, the Ghana Armed Forces, and the Defence Industry Department.

The discussions focused on potential areas of collaboration, technology transfer, industrial capacity development, skills training, and long-term investment opportunities within Ghana’s growing defence and manufacturing sectors.

The proposed partnership is expected to contribute significantly to local industrialization efforts, job creation, technical knowledge transfer, and the strengthening of Ghana’s defence logistics and manufacturing capabilities.

Speaking during the engagements, representatives of Cendana Auto expressed optimism about Ghana’s strategic position, political stability, and commitment to industrial growth, describing the country as a viable destination for long-term defence manufacturing investment.

Omanbapa Ghana Ltd reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating strategic international partnerships that promote economic growth, industrial development, and sustainable investment opportunities for Ghana and the broader African market.

The meetings mark an important step toward deepening bilateral cooperation between Ghana and Malaysia in the defence and industrial sectors.
